I went in to town on Thursday, to find a camera shop and buy a wide angle lens for the hike I plan on doing up to the famous climbing point of The Grotto. I walked in to Myrties, about 20 minutes from the hotel and hopped on the bus. It was siesta time when I got in to Pothia so I wandered around and took some photos to kill some time. It’s a nice enough harbour, but haven’t been spoilt by seeing the likes of Symi and Halki, it doesn’t quite have the same feel.

Once the shops were open, around 6ish, I eventually found the camera shop, after I found the cake shop……

Inside the camera shop I couldn’t see any cameras or accessories, only Kodak printing booths…I asked the guy behind the counter about lenses and he kind of just laughed “Pothia and Kalymnos does not keep things like that. No one will buy them here!”

Oh. Ok then. So that was that. I wandered around, bought a new notebook for my study notes as my other is full, looked in the shops and got the return bus home. Never mind, it was worth a look!
